Meet Your Audience Where They Are
With technology advancing rapidly, it’s important for nonprofits to stay in the know of the latest trends and ways that potential donors are giving.
Founded in 2009, Venmo allows users to request and pay other users on the app by transferring money through each other’s bank accounts. No information, cash or checks are needing to be transferred for transactions anymore; users simply add their bank information into their secure profile (this idea might sound crazy to you, but is very common for Millennials to get on board with).
Nonprofits can utilize Venmo by making their own account and sharing their account name at events. This way, even if attendees don’t have cash or checks on them and/or if your organization does not have the ability to swipe a credit card, people can still donate to your cause with the click of a button on the app.
GiveTide is a new app that allows users to donate to causes important to them with a single tap. Once users link their bank accounts to the app, they are able to seamlessly skim through various causes online and support charities of interest.
This app will be great for nonprofits, as they can promote their cause and share the importance of supporting the organization, reaching users that are looking for a cause to donate to. The app just went live in October, so jump on board with this innovative giving platform!
